Whew another scorcher day 32 degrees.. so much hot weather all across our great country this summer!!!
More history I didn't know about Moose Jaw. First off , where did that name come from?? A Cree name, meaning "a warm place by the river" Nice!
AND....Moose Jaw was a major gangster and rum runner hub during prohibition. Al Capone himself had an office and lucrative business here. For awhile Moose Jaw was known as " Little Chicago "
The Moose Jaw Tunnels, was a fun tourist stop. Interactive with great young actors and so informative. We really enjoyed it all.
Moose Jaw has other claims to fame too: Mac the Moose is here and once again holds the title as world's tallest Moose! There was a time that poor Mac had lost his title, by a mere 30 centimeters, to an east-central Norwegian town. But after some fund raising Mac was crowned with new antlers to regain his rack title by a whopping 10 inch extention!
Also....our famous Snowbird aerial flight crew is based right here in Moose Jaw!! Their first show was here in Moose Jaw in 1971. YES !!!
